Talking about ancient sports of south East Asia, Thai boxing (Muay Thai) has a very prominent space. This way of boxing started in 15th century when Thailand had conflict with Burma. Muay Thai is fusion of classical boxing techniques with low kicks and elbow\knee strikes and grappling is also allowed. Muay Thai is one of the tourist attractions in Thailand even 17th march is celebrated as National Muay Thai Day. Muay Thai Boran (Old Muay Thai) has four branches.

Muay thasao, which deals in fast, moves to your opponent. Muay chaiya is way of defending with the use of elbow and knees. Muay korat means simply power. Muay lobburee is art of using brains with smart moves.

Muay Thai Boran (old version of Muay Thai) stresses on clever moves and intelligence, but now days Muay Thai is all about strength.
